Privacy Policy
Plain language — no legalese. Here's exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
1. Who we are
Flexing Data is a mentor-led data education platform founded and operated by Shashank Kashyap. The platform is accessible at flexingdata.com. When we say "we", "us" or "our", we mean Shashank Kashyap / Flexing Data.
2. What we collect and why
When you take the free assessment
- Email address — to send you a one-time password (OTP) and your personalised assessment report.
- Name — to personalise your report and any follow-up communications.
- WhatsApp number (optional) — to send WhatsApp messages about workshops, resources, and your learning journey if you opt in.
- Career role / background — to tailor the assessment report and roadmap to your situation.
- Quiz answers and score — to generate your skill report, percentile, and personalised roadmap.
When you use the Learner Hub
- Your quiz history and scores, stored to show your progress over time.
- Login session data (a secure PHP session cookie) so you stay logged in.
Automatically collected data
- Basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) stored by our hosting provider (Hostinger) for security and performance. We do not use these for marketing.
3. How we use your data
- To send your OTP and assessment report by email.
- To send educational resources, workshop invites, and learning updates — only if you ticked the consent checkbox.
- To improve the quiz questions and platform experience (aggregate, anonymised analysis only).
- To contact you about your learning progress if you book a 1:1 call.
We do not use your data for advertising, third-party marketing, or profiling.
4. Who we share your data with
We share your data with as few parties as possible:
- Hostinger (our web host) — to run the website and store data securely in India-region servers.
- Google — Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN; Google may set a cookie. We use Google Workspace for email.
- Topmate / Exly — if you book a call or enrol in a bootcamp through those platforms, their own privacy policies apply.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party.
5. OTP and email security
All OTPs expire within 10 minutes. Emails are sent via mail() through our hosting provider's SMTP. We do not store your OTP beyond its expiry. Email addresses are stored securely and are never exposed in our frontend code.
6. Cookies
- PHPSESSID — a session cookie used to keep you logged in to the assessment and Learner Hub. It expires when you close your browser or log out.
- Google Fonts — Google may set performance cookies. These are covered by Google's privacy policy.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
7. Data retention
- Your assessment data is retained indefinitely so you can view your history in the Learner Hub.
- You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing shashank@flexingdata.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
8. Your rights
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (just reply "STOP" to any email).

9. Children's privacy
Our platform is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We'll note the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
